| I was thinking today that mandatory obedience to an alledged authority in the religious system further establishes their dominance, strengthens their control over you and gains their conditional approval. Obedience to God is your loving response to his love for you and sets you free from the fear and control of man. |

I'm getting plenty of unwelcome opportunities to be a killjoy around Family Room Media.
Obedience to God may at times, or even often, be a natural response to his love, but very often God will ask you to do things that make God seem anything but loving. You don't need to take my word for it - God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, and you can know for certain that Abraham did not react to that command in a gush of obedience to God's obvious love. When you have experienced this phenomena in your life, you to will know how hard it can be to obey God.
