Part 3 explored the issue of Bible translation and shined the light on the fact that King James adjusted some of the wording in certain scriptures to support an institutional view of church. The reason being that as king of England it was to his benefit to enforce church attendance and institutional Christianity. But the Tyndale Bible written before the King James Version used different wording on certain text. For example, Hebrews 10:25 in the Tyndale Bible reads, “Do not forsake the fellowship we have among ourselves…” The translators under King James changed that scripture to read, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…” Although they basically say the same thing, the wording the translators of the King James used was specifically crafted to support an institutional view. What are your thoughts on this?
